STOTT PILATES® Mat and Equipment Classes

Equipment classes are either on the V2Max reformers, a combination unit of a reformer and a Cadillac tower, or on the Stability Chair.  Both pieces of equipment offer resistance training for arms, legs and core using springs and your own body weight.  Flexibility, postural awareness and balance are also addressed.  The variety of exercises and challenge to your whole body is endless. Classes will vary in focus, pace, and ability level. Please see class descriptions for a more detailed information on a particular equipment class.

Matwork classes at the Essential/Intermediate level will take you through a dynamic, full-body workout that focuses on improving flexibility and core strength, with exercises that stretch and tone all muscle groups. Programming may vary from session to session to include, Stability Balls™, Foam Rollers, Flex-Band® exercisers, Toning Balls™, Fitness Circle® resistance rings, and BOSU** balance trainers.

Cardio on the Reformer

Combining Pilates with traditional training methods such as plyometric interval training can yield fantastic results. By placing a CardioTramp or jumpboard onto the V2Max reformers this workout features multi-planar exercises that call for unilateral movement, weight transference, and torso rotation. With a focus on the core, arms, legs, shoulders, and hips, these moves build strength, power, and agility and are designed to help raise the level of your performance.

Zenga

ZEN•GA™

ZEN•GA™ is a synergistic blend of mind-body modalities, supported by exercise science and the newest findings in fascial fitness. ZEN represents the search for inner discovery, while YOGA symbolizes a pathway to reach it. Together they form ZEN•GA™, which is based on Four Mindful Movement Principles: breath, support, yield and flow. When applied together, these principles bring awareness of how the body and the mind move in tandem. ZEN•GA™ focuses on core stability, stamina and resilience while attaining a state of presence. The increase in demand on the neuromuscular system affords the benefits of improved strength, enhanced elasticity and creates a more youthful, resilient and fluid body.
