kara Strauss

Kara Strauss PT, DPT, MBA
Physical Therapist

Physical Therapist

Kara earned her BSBA from the University of Delaware in 2002, her MBA from the University of Georgia in 2006, and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from Georgia State University (GSU) in 2012. Since then, she has spent time working in both private practice and hospital settings as an orthopedic and acute care Physical Therapist. Kara has furthered her education by earning additional certifications in Pilates, Yoga, Dry Needling with MyoPain Seminars, and a specialization in Pelvic (“Women’s”) Rehabilitation with Herman and Wallace.

Chronic pain is also an area of interest for Kara, and she teaches future PTs at GSU so that they have the opportunity to learn about pain science, and some of the alternative methodologies for patient care.

As an educator, Kara is particularly interested in empowering her patients in their own health so that they can maintain healthy lifestyles long after their injuries have healed. In Kara’s treatment of patients with Pelvic Health issues, she has found that the understanding of one’s body is the most valuable tool to wellness. This is why she takes the time with each patient to teach them how to recognize and address their own specific needs.
